About us: The Hemera Group backstory
Chapter one: It begins
It all began a long time ago, seven years ago, to be exact. Which is a lifetime ago if you’re talking digital terms. Samantha Wharton, armed with a flair for the dramatic and an award-winning background in corporate marketing and training, decided to start her own company. The Hemera Group, a boutique digital marketing and training firm, was born. She was blessed to have her former employer as her first client, and the rest was history. Well, it wasn’t that simple, a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into it – well not really, who likes to see blood or to actually sweat, but we did say a flair for the dramatic!
Chapter two: The formative years
From her corporate experience, Samantha only knew one way to get clients. It was a somewhat painful one at that. The request for proposal (RFP) process to bid for clients. And just like that, we’re back to blood, sweat and tears! If you have done RFPs, you know that it can be a highly stressful yet exhilarating process. It can turn you on your head!
The Hemera Group went head to head with universities and large corporations for business. With a positive attitude, and a little pith and vinegar, we won 33% of proposals that we pitched. It may not sound like a lot, but the average is 10-12%. What helped? A different approach. That plus non-formulaic content and a passion for the work we create with our clients.
Chapter three: Today's update

It was a pleasure to work with Samantha and The Hemera Group. Even though we are located across the pond, she was extremely responsive. Samantha is passionate about work, delightful to work with and creative. Our budget was modest as a new brand and she was able to produce work above and beyond what we had in mind. I look forward to a continued partnership as we go beyond 2020.
